The campaign asked consumers to post pictures of their central heating hot water tank on either Twitter or Facebook with the best photograph receiving Lakeland vouchers worth £200.

Isaac Occhipinti, of HWA said “We had some wonderful photographs it is amazing to see what people keep in their airing cupboards. We had examples of proving bread, germinating seedlings, trainers drying and even fermenting cider. There is enormous affection amongst the British public for the humble airing cupboard.

The photograph submitted by Ms Scott showed that her airing cupboard is in daily use offering a warm place to keep towels and bedlinen.”
