New tool launched to help employers find apprenticeship training
8th Nov 2016
“The new tool launched by the Skills Funding Agency, SFA to help employers find apprenticeship training will help our members and subsequently make it easier for them to offer apprenticeships,” says Ross Anderson, Director at the Industrial & Commercial Energy Association, ICOM.
He continued,
“As an industry we need to attract potential employees and this includes apprentices. The SFA online tool will provide our members with up to date instant access to information about apprenticeships on offer, at approved training organisations.
We are facing a very serious skills shortage, experienced talent is being lost and currently we are not replacing it in anywhere near the numbers we need. Anything that can be done to make it easier to attract talent into the industry is most welcome.”
The online tool has information on over 16,000 apprenticeships, together with details about training providers and the qualifications they can deliver. Approximately 400 employers and 200 training providers have already tested the system, playing an integral part in shaping its design.
