ICOM Apprentice of the year 2016 short list announced

18th May 2016

The short list for the prestigious ICOM Apprentice of the Year 2016 has been announced. The winner of the award will be made at the Industrial & Commercial Energy Association, ICOM annual luncheon being held on Wednesday 8th June.

Ross Anderson, Director at ICOM said “This is a highly contested and well respected award and I am delighted to announce the short list of candidates. We know that our sector is facing severe skills shortages which are likely to get worse as our aging work force retires, training young people to fill these skills gaps is a great model for transferring skills from one generation to the next. I wish the nominees all of the very best.”

The following apprentices have been shortlisted for the award:

  1. Andrew Bell of Cochran Ltd
  2. Kyle Dean of Lochinvar Ltd
  3. Phillip Roberts of Nortek Global HVAC (UK) Ltd

The event, taking place once again at the Royal Air Force Club in Piccadilly, London, will see representatives from across the UK’s industrial and commercial heating industry sector come together to mark another successful year and will be opened by Simon Parker, Vice President and General Manager – Europe, Nortek Global HVAC, ICOM’s new Chair.

The event is open to ICOM members. To find out more about joining ICOM please visit www.icom.org.uk
