HHIC gives evidence at Energy and Climate Change Select Committee
17th Nov 2015
The Heating and Hotwater Industry Council, HHIC, are today giving evidence at the Energy and Climate Change Select Committee hearing on ‘Home energy efficiency and demand reduction’.
As the leading not for profit trade association of the UK heating industry, HHIC are well placed to advise the Committee representing members from right across the heating supply chain.
Head of External Affairs, Isaac Occhipinti said “I am delighted that HHIC are recognised by the Committee as being one of the ‘go to people’ on energy efficiency. Together with our members we work incredibly hard to find appropriate solutions to tackling home energy reduction which in turn helps us as a nation cut our carbon emissions.
I will be asking the Committee to make a commitment to a single simple long term cross party energy policy. This would help avoid the ‘stop-start’ nature of policies like Green Deal and help improve both industry and consumer confidence.
We need to stand in the homeowners shoes and understand the barriers, be they lack of funds or limited understanding that prevent them from installing measures within their homes.”
