GVN criticises “biased” T&E report

The Gas Vehicle Network (GVN) has rejected a report released by Transport & Environment, a Brussels-based lobbying firm, which claimed that gas HGVs emit up to five times as much NOx as their diesel counterparts.
The report, entitled Do gas trucks reduce emissions?, was comprehensively dissected and refuted by Natural Gas Vehicle Association of Europe. In their analysis, NGVA Europe point out that “the conclusions drawn by T&E are misaligned with the measurements reported” in the data gathered by Dutch firm TNO (the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research).
Mike Foster, Chief Executive of GVN, said: “This report flies in the face of a raft of peer reviewed studies and reports which have found that gas HGVs deliver significant NOx reductions over diesel.
