Future of heating examined at HHIC Hydrogen workshop
19th Nov 2018
The Heating and Hotwater Industry Council (HHIC) continue to lead the way on the future of heating. Tomorrow, 20th November 2018, the HHIC will host an industry workshop ‘Working with Hydrogen’.
The latest in a series of workshops and industry seminars will provide delegates with a detailed briefing on industry activity to date and an opportunity to discuss the development of the gas appliances of the future.
Stewart Clements, Director, HHIC said:
“To decarbonise heat affordably and without the need for homeowners to change their heating systems, the UK must green the gas in the grid, using so called green gases such as Hydrogen.
The gas grid currently delivers gas into the homes of over 85% of the UK population and there is little appetite to simply abandon gas and start again with a new system, not to mention the enormous costs involved.
Our members have been at the forefront of ‘Hydrogen for Heat’ development with several of our members already working on hydrogen appliances. This workshop enables important industry dialogue around hydrogen development, and we are delighted to facilitate this opportunity for the industry to share information during the early development of hydrogen appliances and components.”
