Nigel Richardson joined EUA as Head of Policy and External Affairs at the start of October.

Before joining EUA he spent six years as Regional Public Affairs Manager with Virgin Media O2 and has previous experience in the energy sector as Media and Public Affairs Manager at the Energy Technologies Institute.

He has also worked in and with local and central Government, including time spent at the Central Office of Information - essentially the Government’s press office in the regions - where he undertook secondments to a number of Government departments, including 10 Downing Street.

“I have worked in and around Government for many years and on large scale infrastructure projects including the roll out of fibre broadband and 5G, major highways schemes and the development of low carbon technologies.” he said.

“These all had similar challenges to those facing the energy sector today and I am keen to promote the work of our member companies and highlight the essential role they play in the country’s current and future energy system.

“It is important that our members’ voices are heard by politicians and policy makers as they make decisions that will impact businesses and consumers in the future.

“I look forward to meeting and working with members across all EUA divisions to ensure views are heard by the right people.”
