EUA celebrates Living Wage Week

6th Nov 2017

In celebration of Living Wage Week (Sunday 5th November – Sunday 11th November), the Energy and Utilities Alliance (EUA) is reaffirming its status as a Living Wage employer, and encouraging others to commit to paying all employees a wage that meets the costs of living. The rate, which has recently increased by 2.4%, is 17% higher than the government minimum for over 25s.

Mike Foster, Chief Executive of the Energy and Utilities Alliance (EUA) said:

‘We are proud to be one of nearly 3500 living wage employers committed to paying all employees a wage that meets living costs. At the heart of the living wage movement is the idea that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay and this is something we wholeheartedly support. This independently calculated wage exceeds the government minimum and we encourage other employers to join us in our commitment to the living wage.’

He added:

‘The EUA is proud to be at the forefront of ethical business practices, having also achieved Prompt Payment Code status (PPC) to support small business and accreditation by the Fairtrade Foundation.’
